with all the reports in the news about the latest baseball star getting caught taking steroids, it has made me stop and think a little deeper on the situation. why do these major leaguer take these "banned substances"? should it they be punished or pardoned? thought like these have been rattling around in my head lately and i just need to get some thought out in the open. first i want to come right out and say that i do not agree with taking any performance enhancing drug. i feel that if your are not as talented as the guy your competing with then you shouldn't try to take a pill or inject yourself just to give you an advantage; but i also believe in the motto "if your not cheating then your not trying". This topic has begun to conflict my to beliefs because some would say that these players must live with the side effect of these drugs and if they want to shorten their lifes for a few years of fame then by all means let them. personally this whole steriod era has become an major motivator for me to become bigger and better on my own with no assistance from any performance enhancing drug just to prove to these people that happen to take these drugs that its possible to accomplish the thing you want to without putting your body at risk ...

The Game of Baseball

With January coming to a close and February on the rise, comes the beginning of baseball season. Last week marked the star of the 09’ season, a day that I have been waiting for since I hung up my cleats at the end of my senior year of high school.
Over the past to weeks we packed up our gear and embarked on two road trips, a six hour bus ride to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona and an hour and drive to Cal State L.A. What I learned from both of these trips is that no matter where you go, whether it be six hours away or sixty minute, the game of baseball is still the same. You can go to a place where the buildings are different and they don’t speak the same language, but as soon as you step foot on the ball field you realize the game of baseball is universal. It has taken me 18 year to truly take this in and recognize that this isn’t just a game I love but it is a game that people all over the world love and it is a game that bring people of all shape, sizes, and colors together as one.

Walking down the streets of my home town of Riverside, Ca I began to notice that all the cities are beginning to look the same. Every city contain the same gentic make up. Startin with the local shopping center consisting od a grocery store, a handfull of fast food resturantes and little hole in the walls like salons, liquor stores, and thee local blockbuster. I am sick of the new track homes popping up left aand right. I find it completly ridiculous that every house looks exactly the same and you cant go to the restroom wothout staring your neighbor in the eye(figurativly speaking ofcourse). I cant wait to enter my late 20's so i can move away from the cloned mentality of cities around here and go to place where i can be an individual, in my own house that doesn't look anything like my neighbors. That will be the day...
